ok my OTHER reflection:

on the one hand its really frustrating to see the posts about docs and healthcare in general on here be so narrow-minded. bad experiences with certain providers have lead to a huge spread of misinformation and mistrust with the whole system. which can and HAS lead to people avoiding 'evil' doctors for perfectly treatable illnesses and dying from them (the vaccine bullshit, anyone?)

but on the other hand. it is TERRIFYING how some of these docs practice medicine. at times i think 'are you just burned out and don't give a shit or are you straight up just stupid?' and i work in critical care. where quite literally every case is life or death. even in the academic sector where there is supposedly a standard of excellence, some doctors i would not let touch my loved ones with a ten foot pole.

and that sucks. i know this is the no nuance piss on the poor webbed site but 'the medical system and people that work for it are fallible and aspects of it are morally questionable at best/unethical at worst' AND 'the field of medicine exists to help people first and foremost and mistrusting/avoiding it can be detrimental in the long run' can and DO co-exist

Wexle was largely confined to base rote work & kept in the dark about the Bigger Bodies projects. upon learning of the true nature of their work, though - especially of the Prototype - they crashed out & had to be restrained after injuring & nearly killing most of their coworkers. after becoming 1301, they either did not remember the incident or no longer cared; when they learned how to talk through their speakers, their first demand was to return to work. despite everything, they still kept at their schedule.

during the Hour of Joy, the Doctor kept them isolated from the slaughter & modified their work according to what the Prototype demanded. as the player messed with electrical systems and objects, their schedule slowly became disrupted; when it was too much to ignore, 1301 would pause their work & reset the systems in their wake. major disruptions, however, were met with agitation & violence until they were resolved.

after the player kills the Doctor, 1301 loses access to places & resources in the wake of the security system shutdown, & copes by collecting stray toys as "new samples" & taking them apart methodically, but aimlessly. the Prototype then lures them to the Labs - 1301 has not only a dedicated work ethic, but what remains of the Doctor's most recent findings backed up to their drives. whether or not the Doctor still remains in any capacity, 1301 is the most intact remnant of his work

I'm actually so serious that spotify wrapped is one of my favourite holidays of the year and the fact that it's taking a week longer to release this year than I was fully convinced it would actually take is pretty agonising.
